Summer Camp Information

Where: Dorchester Shooting Preserve, Midway, GA. The Dorchester Shooting Preserve is located approximately 25 miles south of Savannah, GA just off Interstate 95 at exit 76.
When: There will be two weeks to choose from June 9-13 and June 16-20, 2008.
Cost: $300 per camper. There will be some scholarship money available so do not let the cost keep your child from coming.
Activities of Camp: Archery, shooting safety and shooting skills with .22’s and shotguns, fishing, boating with canoes and kayaks, one night survival skills camping, wildlife management lessons, compassing and much more.
Focus: Our first goal is to use the camp setting in the midst of God’s great creation to bring our campers and their families into a vibrant and growing relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Second, our goal is to pass down outdoor recreation skills that many of our youth are not getting the opportunity to experience. We hope that through this experience they will develop new hobbies that will last a lifetime. And thirdly we want to use this setting to instill a love for God’s great creation that will result in a wise understanding of our role as God’s children to use, enjoy and yet converse the gift God has given us through His creation.
What to bring:
Personal Toiletries, towels and wash cloths
Twin size sheets or summer weight sleeping bag and pillow
Plenty of bug spray
Personal Bible
Flashlight
Favorite fishing pole or one will be provided
If you choose to bring your own gun please make sure it is unloaded, cased and action is open! Let us know what you are bringing. Make sure you have your serial number recorded at home. No ammunition is needed, all will be provided. It is not necessary to bring a gun, we have guns to match anyone.
*Please no cell phones! They become a distraction and we want campers to be focused on camp and not friends at home. Phones brought will be taken up and returned at the end of camp.
